BMW and ZF optimize production cycles

ITI and the automotive companies BMW and ZF enjoy longstanding business relationships. Both, ITI’s software and its engineering services have helped BMW to optimize powertrains and hydraulic applications. An area of application is the simulation of Bowden cables. Here SimulationX permits evaluating concepts at an early stage and without any hardware setup, which in return means shorter change cycles and significant cost reductions. Consequently, BMW applies this simulation solution to more and more areas in the development process.

As a worldwide leading automotive supplier ZF profits from the CAE tool SimulationX that allows assembling both simple and complex powertrain models very quickly. By using SimulationX for a target-oriented optimization of powertrain components, engineers can optimize, e.g., torsional dampers already during the concept phase, thus saving time and costs when building prototypes later in the process.
