Real-time modeling and simulation of electrically vehicles
To reduce time effort and costs during the development of electrically vehicles hardware-in-the-loop-simulations are increasingly used. Hardware-in-the-loop simulations with real-time vehicle models that reproduce the behaviour of electrical drive, battery, powertrain and chassis, allow detailed analyses in an early development stage.
Together with its partner National Instruments ITI build such a model of an electrically driven all-wheel buggy including brushless direct current motor, lithium-polymer accumulator, all-wheel drive and independent wheel suspension. The model functionality is exported in SimulationX as C-code to the real-time platform VeriStand. Compositions of drive tests and simulation results show that with the help of SimulationX model libraries realistic models will be created which are open and variable in structure. Therewith nonstandard components can be modeled cost-efficiently.
