Virtual design and functional testing
In close cooperation between leading suppliers such as National Instruments, dSPACE, ETAS or Cosateq, we provide our customers with complete and flexible PC-based solutions for the Real-Time Prototyping of technical systems.
The connection of SimulationX to real-time platforms provides the user with a broad range of benefits.
- By using HiL technology the behavior of even most complex systems including controls can be analyzed in a sound and reliable way very quickly.
- SimulationX provides the ideal modeling and calculation platform by facilitating the fast, complete and efficient set up, calculation and optimization of physical plant models.
- An easy-to-use C-Code interface both to real time environments and MATLAB/Simulink facilitates the smooth transition to HiL simulation linked with electronic devices.
- In consequence, the effort for cost-intense test with prototypes can be substantially decreased. Working with SimulationX engineers, scientists and developers can enhance their opportunities regarding efficiency and productivity due to real-time and HiL platforms.
The complete operating chain running from the physical modeling of a technical plant over offline-simulation and optimization through to the real-time simulation in connection with control unit hardware is supported. HiL solutions by ITI offer the ideal environment particularly for HiL simulation of control unit hardware and physical plant models: Via real-time simulation a complete plant environment is simulated to the real hardware. Therewith, even within projection phase the user is able to analyze the behavior of new complex systems and its control.

ITI-Hoerbiger-HiL Shifting Simulator
Recipient of the SAE award for our developments in the field of power transmission, we continue with innovative partners to develop new tools and methods to further revolutionise the development of driveline systems and their control. In particular the field of real-time simulation / Hardware-in-the-Loop has made significant advances.
In collaboration with Hoerbiger Antriebstechnik GmbH ITI have developed a gear shift simulator to enable shift comfort to be fully evaluated in the development stage of the design process. The system incorporates a detailed model for the gear shift linkage, including inner and outer shift mechanisms connected the complete driveline and vehicle. By means of an electronically controlled gearstick the shifting behaviour can be immediately experienced by the engineer allowing an optimised design to be achieved prior to assembling a physical prototype.
With this visionary online design tool the final model can be easily adapted to evaluate other drivelines, vehicles or shift mechanisms.
